I am sooo happy that I waited for the P4Pro version and didn't jump on the P4. This is exactly the advancement I was hoping for and so much smaller than the Inspire series. Great review mate. Yet, I think you did the comparison wrong on "preparing flight, flying to trash can and getting back" part. They should start in their bags. Coz the biggest advantage of getting Mavic ready to fly is it doesn't need to put on the propellers when it comes in/out of the box. So I think, if you put all of the drones from their box, mavic will definitely wins the competition. Coz these phantoms needs to get their propellers ready.

Got my regular phantom 4 pro yesterday. I finally got it up in the air today. It's going to take time to run through the gamut of these settings but the videos do look pretty decent out of the card. Next step is to learn color grading. Then I can work on the flying and shooting.

I am delighted with my Phantom 4 Pro Plus. Being very impressed with the Phantom 3, I upgraded to the Phantom 4. My only real concern with it was the screen brightness of the IPad 2, which made it difficult to read the text, so I decided that, despite the cost, it would be worth getting a 7” Crystal Sky monitor. But what no one seems to have noticed, is that the text size on the 5” screen, is just as large as it is on the 7” screen, and therefore much easier to read on the smaller but brighter Crystal Sky P4 Plus screen, than on the IPad. As far as the clutter goes, having dealt with all the settings, you simply have to stroke the screen to remove the text and be left with a completely clear camera view. Most of the time you don’t need to see the collision avoidance display as you can hear it, and collision avoidance will still operate. There are advantages of a detachable Crystal Sky monitor, (when it becomes available), but it is not so neat, needs a connecting cable, and is a lot more expensive. Perhaps DJI will bring out a controller with a 7” screen, but I am entirely happy with the 5” screen. I have had no issues with operation or reliability.
I think the Phantom 4 Pro is way to expensive for that little bit of quality so i prefer buying a magic instead of a P4 pro, 1st Price, 2nd convinience and portability

Well done. I have a PV2+ that was a lemon. I've been hesitent to purchase another DJI and I'm faced with the dilemma to buy the P4Pro+ or something else. Your review makes it pretty clear that this is an excellent quad. It's ironic that you have an accent and have captions when you are easier to understand than many americans that don't have captions but should. Hats off to you. Entertaining, informative and well produced.

Great work on the comparo. I sort of wish they let the Mavic have the same "pro" camera, but I'm guessing that's a 2017 model once the backlog of sales is turned into revenue.
I sort of which the new "4" has folding legs and arms -- it could fold in on itself around the gimbal and be quite compact.
I look forward to being able to "throw launch" the Mavic. The dirt and prop foul seem to happen mostly in the first meter after take-off.
Solid video, no one has done a video like this even still.

Given all these advances from DJI do you think we will see the Karma again? I'm thinking maybe not.
Surprised no mention of h265. Bitrate is meaningless without knowing the codec. So 100mb for 4k60p is pretty rubbish if h264 ( about the same, a bit worse than the 60mb 4k30p u get with the p4 and mavic). On the other hand if you are shooting 100mb with h265 all bets are off. You'd need to covert to vp9 to upload to RUclips and benefit from that for RUclips videos, but for regular stuff as a general rule, shooting in h265 'doubles your effective bitrate compared to h264. E.g. If you can shoot h265 at 100mb 4k60p you should achieve about the same quality and lack of artefacts that you would if you could record at 200mb in h264.... hence its a pretty big deal... so be good to see some side by side comparisons and what the h265 encoder limitations are (for example I thought I'd seen it only does up to 60mb which all but regates it benefit if you can shoot in 100mb h264)

Hi, just got my second drone - Phantom 4 Pro Plus and seeing your channel for the first time. Great content, thanks for sharing. I'm also a new sub so here is one more additional thumbs up!! One thing I wanted to mention, when comparing the boot time for the controllers, the unit that comes with the plus is actually much faster than the iphone you were using. The controller was performing a full cold start up to boot mode while your iphone was just going from locked mode to boot mode, not a fair comparison. Shut your phone off, and start from there and you will find that the DJI controller is many times faster. Just thought I would throw that one out there. Great review and thanks again for sharing.

Maybe this has already been addressed, if so i apolagize. You skipped right over the Phantom 4 PRO. With the P4P you can use the same controller with the P4P and the PRP+

I'm so glad I waited for this model. Just received my FAA Drone certificate and now I'm ready for the purchase. So many places to buy but I think my local Best Buy might be my choice. Well, I bought the Phantom 4 pro plus the other day. It flies great and has great video. The only problem I have is the GIMBLE points to the left. I have done numerous " Auto Gimble Calibration" , with the same results. After closer inspection, I noticed the camera points to the left, weather the drone is on or off. When I attempted to send it in for repair, The DJI return form does not recognize my address. It says my zip code is wrong. I've had the same zip since I built the house 11 years ago. This is getting frustrating, to say the least.
I'm confused between phantom 4 pro+ and mavic 2 pro ... Please suggest the best ...

Was the moire in the original footage?
Most noticably, at 6:28 there is a ton of moire on a building's Christmas/accent lighting. It is on the 1st lower third of the frame. The line of lights ends up inside the lowest and leftmost third.

Nice review!, I have a question about the new android tablet, you showed a setting called "cellular", can you put in a simcard? for data like 3g - 4g
Or do you have to make a hotspot on your phone and connect tru wifi to get data in the android device (google maps etc)
